Olympics 2026: between emotions and Venetian territories

Being a Mover means living movement in all its forms: exploring and letting yourself be inspired, moving with curiosity and awareness. During the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, this concept comes to life: following the competitions, feeling the energy of sport, and then returning to Move Hotels, in the heart of Veneto. A perfect base for those who want to experience the region with dynamism and style.

Beyond the slopes: the cultural heartbeat of Veneto

This year, Veneto becomes a unique stage for those who love movement. The Dolomites host spectacular competitions, while historic cities come alive with cultural events, creating a balance between sport and tradition.

During the Olympics, the Olympic Flame will travel through several cities in Veneto, from Venice to Treviso, Asiago and Belluno, connecting mountains and lagoon and creating a direct link between sport, territory and local communities. Every competition and every city become part of a shared experience, where emotion, culture and landscape meet.

Masks in motion: the Olympic Carnival

The Venice Carnival also connects with the Olympic theme, turning the city’s streets and canals into a festive and creative stage.

The title chosen for this year’s Carnival, taking place from January 31 to February 17, is “Olympus – the origins of the game”. A reference to Ancient Greece and Mount Olympus, the symbolic place where the Olympic Games were born. It recalls the earliest forms of sporting competition, understood as moments of encounter, shared rules and public spectacle.

This year’s official poster features the historic painting The Feast of Fat Thursday in the Piazzetta by Gabriel Bella. Evoking eighteenth-century Venice, it adds to the narrative of Carnival as a collective celebration, made of colors, gestures and participation.

Masks, costumes and performances celebrate the Olympics in a symbolic way: the movement of athletes becomes dance, competition turns into celebration, and Venetian tradition enters into dialogue with sporting passion.

From the Dolomites to the Arena: Veneto’s Olympic venues

Veneto will host several Olympic disciplines. In Cortina d’Ampezzo, women’s alpine skiing events will take place in some of the most iconic areas of the Dolomites, such as the Tofane, already the stage for major international competitions. Venues dedicated to ice and speed sports (bobsleigh, luge, skeleton and curling) will complete the program, set in a natural environment that has been a reference point for winter sports for decades.

In Val di Fiemme, the towns of Predazzo and Tesero will host Nordic disciplines, with facilities historically linked to cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined. A territory that has hosted World Championships and major sporting events many times, confirming its role as one of the most important centres for these disciplines.

The Closing Ceremony in Verona, inside the Arena, brings together sport and cultural heritage. One of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world, it was chosen for its symbolic value and its ability to turn a sporting event into a shared moment, open to the city and its history.

These locations combine iconic landscapes tied to tradition with modern infrastructure, allowing visitors to experience the Olympics both as spectators and as travellers in a region rich in history and nature.

Experience the Olympics from the heart of Veneto

The Olympics tell a story that goes beyond competition. They speak of the body in motion, of time and discipline. A moment in which sport becomes a universal language and movement takes on a collective value, capable of connecting people, places and different stories.

Move Hotels embodies this philosophy, sharing an idea of movement that goes beyond physical action and becomes experience, discovery and connection. Moving means exploring, crossing places, letting yourself be surprised and inspired by details.

Here, in the heart of Veneto, the rhythm of the Olympics meets everyday life, turning every movement into a small personal journey to be fully experienced. Every step becomes an opportunity to discover the territory and yourself. Like in a competition, movement gives us not only results, but emotions. From Mogliano Veneto, Move Hotels is the ideal starting point for those who want to feel part of this journey.
